How to Convince and Motivate Others 5 of 5

Source of Motivation: Source of motivation refers to where exactly are judgments and decisions made: inside a person’s mind (Internal) or from outside sources or feedback (External). Internal people are the ones who decide about the quality of their work. They have difficulty accepting other people’s opinions and outside direction. External people need other people’s opinions, outside direction and feedback from external sources to stay motivated. In the context of work, if they do not get that feedback, they will not know how well they are doing.
