My father

My father:

All boys love and are proud of their fathers (or most of them at least)… And that’s how I always felt about my father too…

But there was something really special about my father that, to me, made him like no other father… My father provided me with great support that regular fathers unfortunately don’t always manage to do… At really troubled times of my life, and especially when I was in my forties, my father became by best and most intimate friend… Being able to talk to a father who will only listen and keep on giving you support and understanding and unconditional love without directing and judging is the greatest gift that any father can give to a son… The loss of my father in 2014 left me broke… I don’t think I can ever overcome the loss of such a wonderful friend… I will always miss him…

One more thing… and that’s another really wonderful thing about my father too… In spite of his high level of professionalism and expertise in his field (he was a university professor and dean of faculty of medicine later), he was still always a very humble and approachable and supportive person to virtually everyone who came across his way… He was so loved and respected and appreciated by all the people who dealt with him and worked with him especially his students, a fact that leaves me so inspired and so enthused to try to be like him… I very proudly add here (below) some of the face book posts and quotes that were written by some of my father’s students and colleagues after he passed away on the 29th of October, 2014…

My father will always live in my heart and my thoughts… his memory will always inspire me to be a better and more giving human like he was…
